Ending 2008 with Big Belly!

Yay, 2008 is almost over!!! It was a very memorable year full of happy times - we found out that we're having a little baby girl, we celebrated our first wedding anniversay, we both still have jobs and life can't be any better! I just hope that the economy improves in 2009 and the world will be more peaceful....

We're almost 26 weeks pregnant! One more week and I'm onto third trimester! Can't believe how fast the second trimester went! Of course, when you're feeling great and having fun, time goes by much faster, unlike the dreadful first trimester! I hear that third trimester is not much fun either - constant trips to bathroom, heavier belly, sleepless nights, etc. But then, we still have so much to look forward to! We have 3-D ultrasound coming up in couple of weeks, we'll be decorating our baby "room," babyshower (yay!), and my ever growing big belly!

This week, our baby is about 1.5 pounds and 14 inches long, the size of an english cucumber. Wow, I can't believe our baby's so tall and heavy already! At my Dr.'s appointment this week, I found out that I gained about 12 pounds so far... So if the baby's only 1.5 pounds, where is 10.5 pounds going to???

Below is my belly pic at 26 (almost) weeks....

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! For Christmas, Paul, baby girl and I went to my parents' house in Orange County for a few days. It was a few days of lots of food, sleeping and playing cards! Our little niece started to walk around Thanksgiving so it was so fun to see her wabbling around.

Be careful!

AHHH!!! What I've been dreading has happened... I've caught the deadliest cold! This weird California weather of 80 degrees one day then raining and 40 degrees the next day has done a number on my body! Since I have "no-medicine" policy while I'm pregnant, the cold is dragging on and on for a whole week now! It's the typical nasal congestion cold with runny nose, sneezes, watery eyes, coughing, etc.. how dreadful.

I've missed work for 2 days, thanks to my ever-so-understanding boss and now back at work today. I must say that being back at work does make me feel better... So everyone out there, please be careful this cold season and bundle up! It's no fun at all being sick during the festive Christmas time!

Funny!

I went in for my blood test this morning to test for diabetes/glucose level. I guess some women develop diabetes during pregnancy...? anyways, they had me drink this yummy orange drink (like Tang) and the bottle said "Some women experience vomiting, nausea, diarreah and fainting." Geez, I had to drive to the Dr.'s office after I drank that thing since they told me to drink it an hour before the appointment... Hew, I didn't get vomiting or nausea or fainting while i was driving!

Hi Daddy!

We read that at this stage in pregnancy, if you put your ear against the belly you can hear baby's heartbeat. Paul and I wanted to test out this theory first hand. Last night while lying in bed, Paul put his head on my belly for 15 minutes. First, he said he heard all kinds of movement noises. Then he found the heartbeat and listened for a while. Then she gave him a few good kicks on the side of his face. I think she's already telling her daddy for some privacy and to stay out of her womb! Uh oh... It was hilarious to watch Paul's reactions to all of this.

We're now approaching our 23 weeks. Our baby girl is now almost a foot long and weighs over a pound, as heavy as a large mango according to babycenter.com... Why do these websites always compare our baby's growth to fruits? Strange. Last week, it was a banana, this week, it's a mango... Making me want to eat some fruit!

This is me at week 23....

Christmas Treeeeeee

It is my favorite time of the year, CHRISTMAS! I love the trees, carols, decorations, fake snow, gifts, everything about Christmas!

Last night, Paul and I went to the christmas tree lot and got a beautiful Douglas fur tree. My college girlfriends (3 of us) have exchanged ornaments every year since our graduation 10 years ago (yikes) in lieu of christmas gifts so Paul and I had more than enough ornaments to decorate our tree. It was so much fun!!!
